Composer
- Andrea Arnaboldi -
Andrea Arnaboldi studied piano and composition during his youth. He became a member of the Regional Artistic Commission of Anbima and of juries in prestigious national choral competitions. Meanwhile he graduated with full marks in Political Science at Universita’ Cattolica in Milan. From an education of classic composition, he has been searching for theatricality of musical composition, which he adapts to different musical genres – music drama, polyphonic choral music and auteur songs. Working with Francesco Guccini and Fabrizio De André, he arranged for chorus their songs, which are broadcasted on the radio and on TV, with the collaboration of EMI Music Italy. This eclectic composer has been following in footsteps of Italian music drama and of Verist School. He has elaborated a style which combines dramatic tone of the text, which Verdi’s style is characterized by, with verist expressionism, which is marked by passion and fascinating symphonic tone use. His works on refined poetic verses are remarkable, particularly L’Aurora di Gerusalemme (2002), which is inspired to Torquato Tasso’s La Gerusalemme Liberata, and his last work Dante racconta l’Inferno, which is inspired to Dante’s Divine Comedy. He has written the libretto, he has composed the music and he has made many orchestrations of it.
