Ensamble Corale Aurora

Ensamble Corale Aurora -

“Coro Aurora” choral ensamble of Caronno Pertusella (Varese) is a polyphonic mixed group born in 1976.

During its concert activity, the chorus has been performing the most significant songs by contemporary singer-songwriters such as Francesco Guccini, Fabrizio De Andrè, Angelo Branduardi, and by soundtrack composers such as Ennio Morricone and by international authors such as John Lennon and Paul McCartney. The songs have been harmonized for unaccompanied voices by the composer Andrea Arnaboldi.

There are also songs from alpine and classical polyphonic tradition, and original compositions in its repertoire.

Among the several national and international experiences, we cite the solemn Mass of Christmas Day in Vatican celebrated by H.H. John Paul II in 1988, the solemn Mass of Christmas Day in Quirinal Palace with the President of the Italian Republic in 1992, and many concerts in Hungary, Austria and Switzerland.

At the present time the chorus is one of the principal performers of the opera “L’aurora di Gerusalemme” (2003) and the more recent opera “Dante racconta l’Inferno” which has been performed for the first time on April the 2nd 2006.

The chorus recorded two CDs published by EMI music Italy: “Il coro Aurora canta Guccini” and “Il coro Aurora canta De Andrè”. It also produced a VHS which is entitled “L’Aurora di Gerusalemme”.

The chorus is directed by Master Andrea Arnaboldi
