Antonello Zompì

Antonello Zompì was born in 1974 in Bari. He got a diploma in piano in 1995 and in the meantime he got a first class degree in liberal arts with a thesis on “Nature and Music in Richard Wagner’s Theatre”.
In 1996 he studied composition under many teachers’ guidance: Luca Macchi, Riccardo Santoboni and Biagio Puntignano. He attended many specialization courses given by Azio Corghi ( Romanini Academy, Santa Cecilia Academy, Chigiana Academy).
He performed some pieces of chamber music (Quintetto, Elegia, Notturno, Variations on a Shöenberg’s theme, Aletheia, Elios) and for orchestra (Tracce di Amarcord). He orchestrated some arias of Arnaboldi’s operas L’Aurora di Gerusalemme and Dante racconta L’Inferno.
He published three lyric poems (Arcano, Alba, In un sorso) on an anthology of contemporary poets entitled “Navigando nelle parole” ( Sailing the Words), which is published by Il Filo publishing house (Rome).
He’s qualified for music and show and for arts and he has been teaching Italian in Varese since 2004.
